Bengals' A.J. Green not expected to miss significant time with ligament sprain in foot

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green put a real scare into the team's fan base when he exited Sunday's 24-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons with a foot injury, but initial reports indicate it may not keep him out as long as initially feared.

The initial diagnosis of turf toe was incorrect, as Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk later indicated that Green is dealing with a ligament strain in his foot.

The team's official website revealed that results from an MRI on the injured foot came back negative, and that Green won't miss more than one more game, if that.

The Bengals play the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, followed by a bye in Week 4.

With that said, multiple outlets have indicated that it would be wise for the Bengals to get Green's foot checked out further to rule out a possible Lisfranc injury.

With No. 2 wide receiver Marvin Jones already sidelined with an injury of his own, the Bengals are surely keeping their fingers cross on this one.
