Trumaine Johnson likely isn't going anywhere.

After initially making him available for trade, the Los Angeles Rams are not expected to move their franchise-tagged cornerback ahead of the 2017 season, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

The Rams opted for the one-year tender for the second time in as many offseasons to keep Johnson off the free-agent market.

While it's unclear whether any progress has been made in recent weeks, an early April report from ESPN's Alden Gonzalez indicated that the two sides were still discussing a long-term deal.

Absent a new agreement ahead of the July 15 negotiating deadline, Johnson would be scheduled to play the 2017 campaign under a salary of $16.742 million.

The 27-year-old will be looking to recapture the form that led to the Rams tagging him over Janoris Jenkins last offseason, where he'd racked up seven interceptions and 17 passes defensed in 2015.

Starting 14 games last season, Johnson was limited to just one pick.
