With the 2017 NFL Draft set to take place from April 27-29, theScore's NFL editors make seven bold predictions about what will transpire.

No QBs are taken in the 1st round

Marking a shocking departure from conventional draft protocol, the league's 32 GMs will elect not to reach at a position that has been characterized as particularly weak this year. Mitchell Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, and DeShone Kizer will each set up camp in the green room for a full night because not one team will draft a quarterback in Round 1. - Michael McClymont

Draft day trades are common. Such deals involving established superstar players, rather than teams simply moving up and down with packages of picks, are not. But there's been momentum building for Richard Sherman to be shipped out of Seattle this offseason. Look for the top cornerbacks to come off the board early, incentivizing another contender to give up the first-round pick, and possibly more, that the Seahawks are seeking for their four-time Pro Bowler. - Dan Wilkins

5 of the top 10 picks will be traded

Other than Myles Garrett slotting in at No. 1 overall there is very little consensus as to what will happen next. With so much depth in this year's draft, teams at the top who are trying to get better in a lot of areas will be more willing to trade back for more picks, while more competitive clubs will be gunning for particular prospects that can bring them to the next level. - Mitch Sanderson

McCaffrey will be only RB selected in 1st round

There's no team in the league that wouldn't like to add Leonard Fournette to its arsenal, but he offers next to nothing in the receiving game and shouldn't be drafted any higher than Derrick Henry was a year ago. Dalvin Cook can play three downs, but his poor athletic testing and character concerns will push him out of the first round, too. That leaves McCaffrey, the model of a modern three-down tailback despite misguided concerns about his size, as the lone RB who will hear his name called on Day 1 of the draft. - David P. Woods

Mahomes will be 1st QB off the board

After months of speculation regarding whether Mitchell Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, or DeShone Kizer will be the first quarterback selected, it will be Mahomes who reaches the podium first. Boasting excellent arm strength and velocity, Mahomes' untapped potential will certainly have league personnel chomping at the bit to select him. - Arun Srinivasan

Reuben Foster will slide out of top 50

For Reuben Foster, his latest off-field issue will be the final straw for teams looking to take the talented linebacker in the first round. Foster has concerns about the health of his shoulder, plays a position regarded as one of the least important, and was sent home from the combine for an incident with a hospital worker. Now, Foster's reveal that he failed a drugs test at the combine due to a diluted sample will cause him to slip out of the first round and toward the middle of the second. - Jack Browne

Patriots trade up into the first round twice

Known for moving down, the Patriots shock everyone by trading up to get into the first round not once, but twice. New England appears set on moving Malcolm Butler and perhaps they get a sweet enough offer to make Bill Belichick also part with backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Regardless of what Tom Brady and the organization say about his future, there are no guarantees about how long the soon-to-be 40-year-old will be able to perform at his current level. The Pats need to add impact players now. - Michael Amato
