Report: Seahawks to sign Michael Wilhoite

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are going to sign free-agent linebacker Michael Wilhoite, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Wilhoite is a familiar face to the Seahawks, having spent the first five years of his career with the division rival San Francisco 49ers.

The 30-year-old had 55 tackles, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, and half a sack through 16 games in 2016 while earning six starts. He had started every game he played for the 49ers over the previous two seasons.

Wilhoite will likely replace Brock Coyle, who signed with the 49ers, as the Seahawks' fourth linebacker and key special teams player.
