Kristi Yamaguchi tells Nancy Kerrigan to 'break a leg' ahead of 'DWTS'

Kristi Yamaguchi had good intentions when sending well wishes to fellow former figure skater Nancy Kerrigan ahead of Monday's "Dancing with the Stars" premiere, but her word choice could have better.

Yamaguchi presumably forgot about the 1994 incident in which Kerrigan was clubbed on the right knee with a police baton. The attack was planned by the ex-husband of Kerrigan's rival, Tonya Harding, and another man in an effort to prevent her from competing in the 1994 Olympics.

Twitter, of course, had a field day:

Kerrigan and dancing partner Artem Chigvintsev performed well in their debut, earning a score of 28 out of 40 for their Viennese Waltz.
