The Seattle Mariners shut down right-hander Matt Brash after he told trainers he felt terrible while throwing on Friday, according to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times.

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said he was "concerned" about the 25-year-old reliever, who will travel to Dallas to meet with Dr. Keith Meister.

Brash hasn't pitched in 2024. He was diagnosed with elbow inflammation after feeling arm fatigue during spring training and was placed on the injured list on March 25.

The hard-throwing hurler was a big part of Seattle's bullpen the past two seasons. He struck out 107 hitters in 78 outings in 2023 and won nine games out of the 'pen.
