The St. Louis Cardinals added another bullpen arm, agreeing to a one-year contract with Keynan Middleton, the club announced Saturday

Middleton will earn $6 million in 2024 and the deal also contains a club option for 2025, according to FanSided's Robert Murray.

Middleton, 30, split last season between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees. The right-hander had a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts over 50 2/3 innings. He was excellent in the Bronx following a trade at the deadline, posting a 1.88 ERA, 0.98 WHIP with 17 strikeouts in 12 appearances.

The Cardinals have spent the offseason upgrading a pitching staff that struggled in 2023. They brought Sonny Gray, Kyle Gibson, and Lance Lynn into the rotation while adding Andrew Kittredge and Ryan Fernandez to the bullpen.
