Here is a look at the Squad Up daily MLB fantasy picture for the full nine-game slate on Monday, April 24:

Hitter Stacks

  • Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants (RHP Matt Cain): As a team, the Dodgers have the best weighted on-base average against right-handed pitchers so far this season at .356. Cain has a 3.31 ERA through three starts, but with a FIP of 5.27, he'll soon regress back to the 5.70 ERA he has boasted over the past two seasons.

3-player stack: SS Corey Seager (62K), 3B Justin Turner (57K), C Yasmani Grandal (49K)

  • Texas Rangers vs. Minnesota Twins (RHP Phil Hughes): The Rangers haven't been particularly potent on offense, ranking 11th in runs per game and 17th in wOBA vs. RHPs, but Hughes doesn't exactly strike fear into any batting order. With a 1.49 WHIP since the start of 2016, Hughes is liable to put many Rangers on base -- and one home run can create value up and down the order.

3-player stack: OF Nomar Mazara (54K), 3B Joey Gallo (51K), SS Elvis Andrus (48K)

  • Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies (LHP Tyler Anderson): The Nationals have a league-leading .482 wOBA against LHPs, which doesn't bode well for youngster Tyler Anderson. Anderson owns a 3.36 ERA at home in his career, but he allowed five earned runs in just five innings in his first Coors Field start this season.

3-player stack: OF Bryce Harper (66K), 2B Daniel Murphy (60K), C Matt Wieters (47K)

Pitcher Breakdown

  • TARGET - RHP Chris Archer (100K), Rays (at Orioles): Archer is the priciest pitcher on the slate for a reason. With a 9.59 K/9 rate, he should be able to goad sluggers like Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo into a handful of whiffs. His 3.20 ERA might not even be the best indicator of how well Archer has pitched; his FIP stands at a fantastic 1.70.
  • BARGAIN - LHP Jason Vargas (52K), Royals (at White Sox): Squad Up's pricing algorithm seems to have slept on Vargas, who has amassed 23 Ks in 20 2/3 innings of 0.44 ERA baseball (not a typo). The White Sox have scored a total of just seven runs over their past four games.
  • FADE - LHP Amir Garrett (90K), Reds (at Brewers): Garrett has posted a 1.83 ERA through three starts while striking out more than a batter per inning. The tough hitter-friendly park in Milwaukee will do him no favors, Monday, nor will a Brewers lineup with the third-best team wOBA vs. LHPs (.383).
  • CONTRARIAN - LHP Brett Anderson (45K), Cubs (at Pirates): Anderson has had an uneven start to his Cubs tenure, going no further than 5 2/3 innings in any of his three starts with 11 Ks in 14 1/3 innings overall. The Pirates struggle against lefties, though, and the combination of a solid pitcher's park in Pittsburgh and great run support from his teammates should put the veteran in line for a win.

Bargain Plays

  • 2B Whit Merrifield (42K), Royals (at White Sox): Merrifield has moved up from sixth to fifth to first in the Royals' order over his past three games. It doesn't really matter how well a player is hitting when he's this affordable, but for what it's worth, Merrifield has gone 5-for-15 with two walks to just two strikeouts since getting his call-up.
  • C Tony Wolters (38K), Rockies (vs. Nationals): This is the cheapest exposure to the Rockies' hitter-friendly home park. Wolters has gotten the bulk of the work when the opponent starts a RHP. He's hitting .321/.367/.357 against righties so far this season. He doesn't tout base-clearing power but can still spray a pair of doubles on a good day.
  • OF Ezequiel Carrera (40K), Blue Jays (at Angels): The Blue Jays are off to their worst start in years and injuries to key contributors -- like 2015 AL MVP 3B Josh Donaldson -- have forced lesser players into elevated roles. Carrera has hit out of the two-hole against RHPs; in the Jays' last three outings against a right-handed starting pitcher, they've averaged 5.7 runs per game.

Top Fades

  • OF Shin-Soo Choo (62K), Rangers (vs. Twins): Choo boasts a .364 on-base percentage through 66 plate appearances, but his paltry .309 slugging percentage isn't worthy of a salary near the top of his position. He has just one home run and one double out of his 13 hits.
  • 1B Jose Abreu (60K), White Sox (vs. Royals): Trying to play the contrarian angle by rostering Abreu is baseless at this point. The Cuban slugger is hitting just .183 with a .212 wOBA through 64 plate appearances. Even with a pair of singles (and runs), Sunday, a matchup with the scorching hot Vargas is a recipe for failure.
  • SS Jonathan Villar (55K), Brewers (vs. Reds): The Brewers, led by the steady presence of OF Ryan Braun and the surging breakouts of 1B Eric Thames and 3B Travis Shaw, have the upper hand against rookie LHP Amir Garrett, but you should leave Villar out of the equation. He has posted an awful .032 wOBA vs. LHPs so far this season. While the sample size isn't great, Villar has started slow overall in 2017. Stay away.

Contrarian Plays

  • 1B Joey Votto (71K), Reds (at Brewers): Votto has been off his automatic standard. His current OBP of .333 is a full 90 points off his career OBP of .423. His walk rate and K-rate are also way down. It's likely he bounces out of his hitting slump soon; Miller Park, where Votto has a .346/.462/.632 slash line in 64 games, could be just the spark he needs.
  • OF Andrew McCutchen (57K), Pirates (vs. Cubs): The Pirates haven't had much luck generating offense this season; their team BABIP is .267, below the 2017 league average of .285 and well-below the usual rate which hovers closer to .300. This said, McCutchen has been a bright spot against LHPs, as he has posted a .437 wOBA with a .313 BABIP vs. LHPs. Both are in line with his career numbers.
  • 2B DJ LeMahieu (53K), Rockies (vs. Nationals): LeMahieu and teammate SS Trevor Story have produced nearly the same average fantasy production per game and cost nearly the same with LeMahieu trailing slightly in both categories. Story offers big power upside, but he has struck out in 41.4 percent of his PAs; LeMahieu doesn't offer the same upside but has a much safer floor because of his A-plus ability to draw a walk.
