Exactly a year ago Friday, the state of Minnesota lost one of its most famous exports when Prince died at age 57.

To honor his legacy, the Minnesota Twins announced they'll host a special Prince Night on June 16. The club will hand out 10,000 "Purple Rain" umbrellas.

"All of us in the Twins organization were deeply saddened by the loss of the late Minneapolis icon Prince," Twins president and CEO Dave St. Peter said in a press release. "Along with our fans, we look forward to remembering the legacy of a man who brought an international spotlight to our great city."

The festivities will mark the second Twins tribute to Prince in as many years. After news of his death in 2016, the team's Target Field home turned purple to honor him, while the entire Twins lineup used songs by Prince as walk-up music.

Prince was born in Minneapolis on June 7, 1958.

The Twins will also donate $10,000 to the Minnesota Public Schools "to benefit students with an interest in music."
