Cleveland police tweet missing persons notice for Cubs' offense

Eric P. Mull / USA TODAY Sports

Everybody's wondering what happened to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night. Even those in Northeast Ohio.

Following the Indians' dominating 6-0 win in Game 1 of the World Series, the Cleveland Police Department sent out a cheeky missing persons tweet in search of the Cubs' vaunted offense, which failed to show up to Progressive Field.

There's good reason for Cleveland police - and those in the Cubs' dugout - to be worried. Although the Cubs had seven hits and three doubles, they struck out 15 times, left nine men on base, and went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Six of their hitters struck out at least twice, and they also failed to capitalize after loading the bases in the seventh with nobody out.

Fans will look for a rebound performance from the Cubs' bats on Wednesday in Game 2, when they face Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer, whose last outing in the ALCS lasted just 21 pitches before he left due to a cut on his finger.
